The Buffoonery

The Buffoonery is back. A group of orangutans is called a buffoonery. We checked. It’s true. To celebrate this excellent collective noun, we’ve assembled a buffoonery of comedians for a one-night-only fundraising show in support of the Sumatran Orangutan Society. Featuring Stewart Lee, Marcus Brigstocke, Alexandra Haddow, Elliot Steel, and more to be announced, it promises to be a very funny evening for a very worthwhile cause. Every ticket sold helps support the protection and restoration of rainforests in Sumatra, home to critically endangered orangutans and an extraordinary range of wildlife, including tigers, elephants, rhinos and sun bears. Unlike the comedians, orangutans are facing a genuine existential crisis. The good news is that by joining us for a night of comedy, you’ll be helping to fund practical action that protects forests, reconnects habitats and supports the communities living alongside them. So come and have a laugh. Bring your friends. Tell people you’re supporting conservation. Then spend the evening enjoying some of the best comedy around. It’s what the orangutans would want. Probably.

Maybe it’s about something darker. Something stranger. Maybe this is someone else’s story. A vital new play about love, death, and the desire to escape reality.
