Technically brilliant, thrillingly passionate and globally in demand, Finnish violin soloist Anna-Liisa Bezrodny is 'a real and true musician... and plays at white heat' (Jessica Duchen). Bezrodny showcases Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, one of the most important works for the instrument in the history of romantic music. The entirely Tchaikovsky programme includes the familiar, beautiful, love-themed Romeo and Juliet (overture-fantasia) and Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Opus 64. First performed in 1888 following almost a decade of soul searching, the piece emphasises the composer's melodic gifts both subtle and spectacular.
