Richard's in New Town today to meet our Edinburgh Barstar of the Day, the fabulously hirsute Kyle Jamieson who takes care of his punters at Panda and Sons on Queen Street.

Background: Born in Edinburgh, Stockbridge. Left school at 16 and worked as a picture-framer at Edinburgh Arts. Studied photography and started bartending to help pay the fees. Finished the photography course and went to Melbourne, Australia and rather than becoming photographer returned to being a full-time barman for 2 years before returning to Edinburgh. Next, he managed Hamilton's, then Treacle followed by Bon Vivant and Devil’s Advocate. More recently he worked for Bacardi where he was invited to run a campaign for Dewars Whisky in Germany and the UK, before taking up his current position.

Ambition: To own his own bar before the end of the year and already has a venue in mind.

Favourite Drink: Guinness and a nip of Craigellachie 23.
