Yuja Wang started playing piano at six years old and shot to acclaim in her teens. Her international breakthrough came in 2007, when she replaced Martha Argerich as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Todays spirited piano superstar, she returns to the International Festival for a solo recital, following her triumphant concerto performance in 2023 with the Oslo Philharmonic and conductor Klaus Mkel.

Wangs technical flair, charismatic artistry and gift for drawing her audience into the world of each composer with compelling immediacy (Financial Times) have proved her one of most globally admired performers. She gives her all into her spontaneous and energetic performances, standing by her maxim that every programme should have its own life and represent how she feels at that very moment in time.

She will choose an eclectic programme of virtuoso masterpieces encompassing the genres of classical, Romantic, impressionist and contemporary.

The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
