WOOF: Which Side Are You On?
  • London Fringe

WOOF is a neo Drag/Draglesque platform that vows to 'Redefine Sexy' and 'Redefine Drag'. We aim to showcase bodies that never fit the cookie-cutter mold of what this alienating world calls 'sexy'. We are here to take back our bodies, own our bodies, and take to the stage demonstrating any damn art we please.

This time we are raising funds to support our refugee, stateless, asylum seeking, displaced and migrant siblings, across the board. In the Britain of the Nationalities and Borders Act, deportation to Rwanda, the Windrush Scandal, and the continuing poison of the hostile environment, we are here to celebrate each other, regardless of our status, but also to challenge each other: How are we disrupting the hostile environment? Do our choices support or undermine border violence? Which side are we on?

Fundraising isnt the only way to take action, but in the atmosphere of continued cuts to legal aid and the cost of living crisis cutting into already shrinking community organising budgets, the government is too busy cashing in on racist fear-mongering about immigration to step up. Always ready to say fuck you to Liz, Suella, and all their Tory mates, WOOF invites you to spend a night of RADICAL DEBAUCHERY while raising money for LESBIANS AND GAYS SUPPORT THE MIGRANTS. All profits from our sales will be going to LGSM to support their fundraising for local community organisation in financial need.

LGSM will be here on the night bucket shaking (with a card reader for the more tech savvy among us) and will be selling HOT AF t-shirts.

We are also selling limited edition signed prints of our artwork, drawn by queer artist Anna Zoe. You can add one to your order now, or grab one on the night (if there are any left!)

We are urging you to prepare yourselves for the night we strive to deliver. Its going to be top talent chaos, all in the name of helping refugees. Co-Producers Chiyo and Margo have hand-picked some of their all-time cabaret favourites to serve you a night showcasing TOP TIER QUEER ENTERTAINMENT. Catch them on November 9th at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.

Hosted by CHIYO, WOOF has become the must-see cabaret event popping up seasonally to challenge your comfort levels.

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
