Whyte & Mackay Glasgow International Comedy Festival Burns Night Comedy Gala 2019

From the city that gave you Billy Connolly, Kevin Bridges and Frankie Boyle, celebrate Burns Night with a line-up of top names showcasing The Whyte & Mackay Glasgow International Comedy Festival (14 - 31 March 2019). This is London's chance to see snippets from some of the leading acts who will be featuring in one of Europe's largest comedy festivals.

Ashley Storrie (compere)

Best known for her online virals and as host of BBC Radio Scotland's Friday night music show, Ashley Storrie is a festival favourite. Most recently seen on BBC2 Scotland's Comedy Underground and regularly heard on BBC Radio Scotland's Breaking The News, Ashley also placed in this year's The List Hot 100 of the most exciting Scottish talent.

Christopher MacArthur-Boyd

At just twenty-four years old, Christopher Macarthur-Boyd is considered the future of Scottish comedy. Born and bred in Glasgow, Christopher has performed stand-up internationally everywhere from downtown Toronto to the Perth and Adelaide Fringe Festivals in Australia. Christopher has made appearances on BBC Radio 1's 24 Hours and BBC Radio 4 Extra's Stands Up At The Fringe as well as making a name for himself as a writer, actor and director of short-form online content for BBC Scotland's Short Stuff and Room To Write.

Matt Winning

Matt Winning is a Scottish comedian who can be seen as the environmental correspondent on Dave's 'Unspun with Matt Forde'. In 2018 Matt received great critical success with his fourth Edinburgh Fringe show, the "funny yet educational" Climate Strange, built as a lecture on climate change, a subject Matt knows well as he also happens to be a genuine environmental Doctor!

Simon Munnery

Simon Munnery is an award-winning comedian. Often experimenting with form, he has been described by Time Out as 'an avant-garde comedy god'. He has recently been featured on Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, The Culture Show, Alternative Comedy Experience, and The News Quiz. He is a British Comedy Award nominee, and Chortle, Perrier, Barry and Sony Radio Award winner.

Dave Fulton

Seattle-based Dave Fulton has played clubs from San Francisco to New York, and notched up many TV credits ranging from Half Hour Comedy Hour (MTV), ShowTime and An Evening At The Improv (A&E) to a cutting-edge US programme called Comedy Explorers where he was filmed floating down the Grand Canyon. He's also been seen entertaining crowds as far away as Hong Kong and Cape Town, South Africa.

Abigoliah Schamaun

Abigoliah is a product of her New York stand up roots; frank, funny, and unapologetic. Since reaching the final of the Funny Women Comedy Awards 2010, she has return annually to the Fringe and become a regular on the circuit. She was named "One to Watch" at Leicester Comedy festival 2017 and The List named her "Top 5 Up and Coming Female Comedians." She has been featured on Comedian's Comedians Podcast with Stuart Goldsmith, The Guilty Feminist Podcast, and Global Pillage with Deborah Francis White. She also appeared in Comedy Central's season 2 of "I Live with Models"and has opened for Jim Norton, Kyle Kinane, and Gad Emelah.

Tony Law

As seen on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Russell Howard's Good News, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, Edinburgh Or Bust and Edinburgh & Beyond. Tony Law is an off-the-wall, award-winning, boundary-defying stand-up comedian. Regarded as one of the finest performers on the comedy circuit by audiences and peers alike.

Mitch Benn

A regular writer and performer on BBC Radio 4's The Now Show and It's Been a Bad Week on BBC Radio 2, Mitch is not only one of the most sought-after acts on the comedy circuit but is widely acknowledged as one of the best writer/performers of comic songs in the country.

The former Mercury Comedian of the Year moved to London in 1996 and quickly established himself as a comedy club headliner and has since toured extensively abroad including Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, France, Montreal, Holland, India and South Africa.
