It happened so slowly, nobody notices. Or, it happened so fast, it felt it had always been. They paid the unmentioned price. Victims of their own brilliance: the clich epitaph that is, was... will be? Whatever the case, victims is true, at least. Brilliance is where things get fuzzy.
