Starting with a school-girl strip routine that ends in crucifixion, The Wau Wau Sisters Last Supper continues at a strapping pace, moving from Southern Country Singers to Hippy-chicks and finally cave-girls in a series of frantic burlesque numbers. The banter is unapologetically crude. The jokes centre on religion, incest, sex and more sex, and while there are some witty elements and great moments of apparent improv, the content has mostly been heard before. Nothing is extremely shocking in what they say, though some of the stunts they pull are acrobatically astounding, and their final routine on the trapeze will leave you wide-eyed.The sisters are impossible to dislike, and the audience, a little boozed, warms to them immediately; everyone is willingly on their feet at the end, swaying and following the sisters instructions. The best moments are the songs and the stunts, or the singing-during-stunts; they are the very first acro-band were told, which means they play guitar and sing in impossible acrobatic positions. Though the moments when they get men on stage are funny, I would prefer to see more of just the sisters, and the second time they get men up for a Bacchanalian ritual is far too protracted, and almost boring towards the end. This show is for the most part great fun, and though its nothing really new, you will leave smiling.
