With funding from the RVW Trust on the Summer solstice, violinist Sian Philipps will perform "The Lark Ascending" as well as a solo violin work by Sally Beamish, a premiere of "Nocturne" by John Hawkins, Egon Wellesz, solo sonata no.2, and Gerald Finzi "Introit" on the 1699 Stradivarius violin she is loaned. Sian has performed recitals at the major London venues such as the Wigmore Hall, St John's Smith Square, and the Purcell Room (SBC) and performed as soloist with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and London Mozart Players. Sian was awarded an Arts Council England grant to record and tour which had to be be postponed due to Covid19."This was a violin sound as beautiful as it comes..."
