This Australian trio perform comedy ballads accompanied by acoustic guitars. They seek to draw humour from the juxtaposition of their well-crafted pop ballads and their sometimes rather tasteless subjects; serial killers, people with disabilities and mental illness.
They share a good rapport with each other and the easily amused members of their audience. The patriotic Australians and the star struck American teenagers lapped it up. I havent felt this much out of step with public opinion since the mourning of Diana!
The annoying thing is, they can clearly write a decent melody and can harmonise beautifully but they all too often choose to indulge in lame banter. Their pastiche of Marvin Gayes Sexual Healing showed how good this show might have been if theyd stuck to the singing.
