WWI stories, songs, poems, humour and visuals by performers aged 14-70. The outbreak of war, young men volunteered and pals enlisted together, including Hearts football team. Men sent to France where they find comradeship, hardship, horror, honour and bravery. At home, women worked in transport, farming, factories and munitions. Tales from wounded soldiers sent from Southampton by train to Edinburgh War Hospital, Bangour. Scottish War Hospitals, started by Elsie Inglis in foreign fields after being refused in Britain. Local history at its best " performers live these songs " moving, uplifting, superb! (Fiona Hyslop, Culture Minister).
