Listen to iconic recorded pieces from the orchestras journey through Venezuelas social action music programme, El Sistema.
The Simn Bolvar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela is one of Latin Americas greatest orchestras. This year, it returns to the Festival for the first time since 2007, joined by conductors Gustavo Dudamel and Rafael Payare. Ahead of the orchestras live concerts, you can enjoy music from their repertoire in this relaxed listening experience.
The orchestra is comprised of over 200 young musicians between the ages of 18 and 28. It forms a key part of El Sistema, an organisation which provides music education to Venezuelan students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The orchestra allows the young musicians to bring new perspectives to works in the classical music canon, as well as providing opportunities to collaborate with world-leading soloists and conductors.
Join from 2.30pm and grab a spot on a sofa or chair for this surround-sound experience.
