Described by TS Elliott as the greatest Scots poet since Burns, Joe Corrie was a Fife miner who influenced and inspired thousands through his plays and poems. In 2011, acclaimed Fife poet and songwriter William Hershaw obtained permission to record an album of songs inspired by Corrie's work. The talented pool of acoustic musicians brought together to create the album included respected producer and musician Erik Knussen, The Hershaws, legendary folksinger Fiona Forbes, clarsach player Jenn Knussen and The Dandylions. This August The Bowhill Players perform The Joe Corrie Project live at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
