The Harem of No One: UNCENSORED @ The Glory
  • London Fringe

We are the Harem of No One, the nastiest, wackiest, sexiest Harem of the universe, the one who got rid of our ruler and the chains that bound us. We are liberated and dedicated to perform only for the best crowd of East London and to bring out the hidden secrets of the Middle-East. This time we bring you the Uncensored, a cabaret show & party about eroticism, fantasies and fetishes entrenched heavily into our heritages. The erotic movie icons, fantasy clichs, queer presence, the hammam, the heat of the eastern sun and all that orientalist bullshit. The kind of thing that will get you censored, arrested or casted out in the Middle-East. Even now, we are witnessing archaic censoring methods, trying to erase queer people and women sexuality from history and the media; and forcing the rest to auto-censor themselves to comfort the regressive minds. This event is Harem of No One's statement against that culture of oppression and heteronormative toxicity. We don't know what will happen that night, but we will be responsible of your pleasure. Get ready to be shocked as this will be a Harem of No One night like no other.

Your host of the night will be Cazeleon, the cabaret chameleon, joined by Darlink Dick, Queen Dner, Shekerpr and Tahini Molasses to bring out their inner devils. Toby Kind will be behind the decks as usual, playing only the sexiest, the naughiest and most liberating songs.

Harem of No One is a queer collective of performers of Turkish, Kurdish, Cypriot and Middle-Eastern heritages but absolutely anyone is welcome and encouraged to join our events and have fun with us.

The Glory is a queer venue run by queer people, for queer people and their allies. We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards homophobia, transphobia, racism, misogyny and discrimination of any kind. Be respectful or you will be asked to leave. Strictly no office, hen or stag parties allowed.

There will be a limited number of tables and table tickets will have priority over the general admission tickets for those.
In case of extra spaces, there will be tickets at the door sold for 15

Doors Open at 6pm
Close at 10.30pm

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
