  • London Fringe

The Dig for Gold is back on at The Glory!

Join Miss Taylor Trash as we reconvene at our spiritual home, The Glory, to find the next nugget of drag performance talent! Now in it's fourth season, The Gold Rush is going stronger than ever birthing some the most individual and iconic drag performers - but as usual, Taylor Trash is greedy for more nuggets of Drag talent and is beginning the dig again. Join her as she embarks on the hunt for London's stars of the future!

WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT!?

----------------------------

Each week our dazzling cast of contestants will battle it out for the chance to win an untold sum of money (we don't find out until the finale - but last year it was 2200!), a crown and sash, a slew of paid gigs and full sponsorship bundle! Who will make it through? You (and our guest judges!) will decide.

But who could possibly help make sure that our contestants are treated with the care and dignity they deserve? None other than drag icon and legend, our Head Judge Romeo De La Cruz! With a glittering career as a legendary UK King, Boylesque superstar, dancer, community leader (@throughmelaneyes) and part of the BoiBox fam - we are delighted to have them with us weekly to help guide our contestants through the process

VOTING, JUDGES & AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION-----------------------------------------------Every person who pays entry to the Gold Rush will receive a Trash Cash dollar bill which they are invited to spend on the performer of their choice and who they want to see win the week. The contestant with the highest audience votes combined with the judges scores wins and is through to the following week!! You can also buy votes from the door downstairs on the night for 5 for 10. This is a contactless transaction.WHAT TO EXPECT------------------Expect more madness! More thrills! More buffoonery and a LOT of drag! Each week our contestants will be challenged to create an act inspired by the task assigned to them. They have only one week to prepare this new act so make sure you give them all the love when the stakes are so high.

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
