Ten Bits on Boondoggling is the poetic journey of two young men building a home for themselves. On the run from a previous life, they try to make a place of safety in a world of conflict and regulation, but come up against instinctive opposition from local residents and bureaucratic forces.
Hunted by a figure who seeks to regulate their behaviour and the house they are building, the two men create an intricate pattern of association, wordplay and escapist imaginings to guard themselves against the people who try to stop them from living.
A play about dispossession, isolation, friendship, our instinct to categorise and define, and the need to cement your place in the world.
* A boondoggle is a construction project that is widely considered a waste of time and money, or a fraudulent operation. *
