Taylor Mac, drag queen, performance artist and ukulele player, presents what he calls The Be(a)st of Taylor Mac. A mix of songs, monologues and tirades against the state of the world and the state of his love life, this is a true fringe experience.
At times funny, angry, happy, sad and ultimately optimistic, with outrageous costume changes along the way, you wont be bored for a second. In fact you may find yourself amazed as he struts out of the mouldy cave that is the Baby Belly that the allotted 55 minutes have gone by so fast.
The first performer Ive ever seen with red sparkly nipples, Taylor Mac reveals his broken heart and a surprisingly strong political bent. Stand out moments have to be his monologue about Manatees and one of the final numbers, the Revolution will not be Masculinised. His ukulele playing works better than you could imagine and his voice is incredible.
If youre feeling jaded after another stand up comic fails to deliver, if youve ever been in love or expressed hate for George Bush, in short if youre a human being, youll love Taylor Mac. Go see.
