String Academy first met on the historic Elizabethan Long House Estate in West Sussex through the generous support of Gordon and Alexandra Tregear DL. Subsequently, it has become the enrichment programme for West Sussex, where students from all backgrounds find transformative pathways through into professions. Several students have won scholarships to The Purcell School, Yehudi Menuhin School, Charterhouse and Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Our programme includes: Klaus Badelts Pirates of the Carribean, John Williams Schindlers List, Vivaldis Concerto for Four Violins in B Minor, Gelem Gelem, Romanian folk tunes, Malcolm Singers Shtetlmusik and Bartoks Romanian Folk Dances.
