Stick It On - Have A Drink On Us Fundraiser
  • Brighton Fringe

Stick It On returns for the first time in almost a decade to give anyone the chance to get behind the decks and spin 15 minutes of their favourite tunes to rock the dance floor. NO DJ EXPERIENCE NECESSARY as the Stick It On crew will guide you to DJ Superstardom. Share your love of the songs that make you want to get a wiggle on, cut some shapes and dance like no one is watching. This is a rare opportunity to BE THE DJ. What three songs would you choose? From pop to hip hop, dance to disco and soul to rock n roll. Strictly only dance floor fillers, no dance floor killas in a night that loves a 'Choon' and unashamedly embraces a Britney track next to Purple Disco Machine club edit next to Dr Dre. Pre-register your set and enter the draw or sign up on the night by picking from our song list. To register your DJ set and enter the draw to be one of the DJs go to https://www.stickiton.org.uk/event/btn_fringe23This special night is raising money for the 'Have a Drink On Us' campaign brought about by the charity 'A Last Night a DJ Saved My Life'. The aim is to raise funds to construct wells in parts of Africa & India to provide clean, safe water to communities that need it most. We're operating a 'Pay as you feel' ticketing system and hope those that can contribute a little bit more will help us try to achieve a target of 2400 which is what it costs to build a water well from scratch. Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
