Scotland's dramatic history is illuminated by her music and traditional folksong. Robyn Stapleton, a BBC traditional singer of the year, and historian Prof. David Purdie of Edinburgh University present the national story with words, songs, and images from the tweed to the Shetlands. Border Ballads, Lowland and Highland airs, with the songs of farmers, soldiers and our exiles, reflect the unique musical heritage of the people. The history and the songs are accompanied by glorious images from the National Archives, making the performance a truly multi-media event. We recommend booking lunch afterwards at the arts club!
