Shiva Tandava. This traditional Indian dance depicting Lord Shiva's power and beauty is presented by girls of La Martiniere Girls' College, Lucknow in a beautiful rendition of a mythological stotra, resplendent in their colourful costumes and vigorous dance steps to soulful music. They represent Lord Shiva, the protector, destroyer (of evil) and regenerator/creator of the universe and life along with his consort Parvati who is considered to be the epitome of love, beauty and devotion. Bharatnatyam (historically called Sadir) is a major genre of Indian classical dance originating in South India. It explores Indian religious themes and spirituality.
