Safe Harbour written by Patricia Forde is a new illustrated storybook for children bereaved by suicide. Safe Harbour tells the story of a family navigating life after the tragic loss of a loved one, as seen through the eyes of a child. This Admission Free resource, developed by bereavement experts, provides comfort and support to families dealing with the sensitive subject of suicide. It is accompanied by a helpful guide for parents and carers, offering practical advice on how to use the book and navigate difficult conversations with children. At this special event, a panel of professionals will discuss the book's impact and its potential as a tool for caregivers, teachers, and key workers. This event is for social workers, care workers, home-school liaison officers, and others working with families or children who may have had experience of death by suicide.
