This year, as a part of the National Lottery's Thanks To You week, we are delighted to be hosting a talk about the heritage of our theatre. Tickets will be 5 or free if you show a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard when you book. All proceeds from the talk will go to the Royal Court Liverpool Trust.
The Royal Court is a Grade II listed building, a magnificent example of one of the best theatres built in the Art Deco style. The Royal Court Liverpool Trust is part way through an 11m scheme to renovate the building.
The theatre is one of Liverpool's most enduring and iconic buildings, and has a rich history including several ghosts!
The talk will be given by our two theatre tour guides, David and Andy, who have a vast knowledge of the building and it's past. From its time as a circus, through the glory days of high end theatre, to bingo and rock and roll gigs, they will share the whole history of the venue.
The talk is scheduled to last for around an hour with tea and biscuits available at the end.
We ask that all ticketholders wear facecoverings when they enter the building. There will be other safety measures in place including hand sanitizer, some social distancing and temperature checks on arrival.
