APR 24 | 7 - 8.30 PM
This online session will have an interview and Q&A with carer, theatre-maker, and puppeteer Amber Williams. There will also be a short showcase exercise where we can preview the magic of her work! Amber was the co-creator of the one-act show, Salt the Threshold, which was put on at Camden Peoples Theatre in 2024. Drawing on her own experience of being a carer throughout much of her twenties, the show explored chronic illness and unpaid care work through the lens of queer horror and folklore.
Amber began her career as an actor before broadening her practice to
directing and making. Her work often explores the relationship between the
familiar and domestic and the weird and uncanny, often using magical realism,
absurdism, and puppetry.
