Rapture
  • Edinburgh Fringe

You see a hijab " I see a rapper. Rapture is a dynamic youth theatre performance which uses rap music and spoken word to tell the story of a young Muslim woman, AJ, who wears her hijab as an actual and metaphorical veil to her true identity. AJ longs to belong and writes amazing rap lyrics, but her talents go largely unnoticed. Loosely based on Cyrano de Bergerac, it explores truth, deception, influence and friendship by focusing on women in hip hop and women in Islam, marginalisation and radicalisation in East London.
