PUP PLAY: A QUEER PSEUDO-LECTURE (OF SORTS)
  • Camden Fringe

Camden Fringe invites the world's leading lecturers to give talks on the issues that matter. That's why Professor Handler David has been invited to teach London how to put their bitchboys into a submissive puppy headspace in this award-winning and world-touring comedy (of sorts). Pup Play: A Queer Pseudo-Lecture (of sorts) is a controversial, provocative, hilarious, and surprisingly introspective journey into queer fetish subculture featuring gay sex, erotic punk musical numbers, homonormative puppets, audience participation, fake bodily fluids, and more fun educational content. Noah Alfred Pantano writes and stars as Professor Handler David in an award-winning performance which in part won him "Spirit of the Fringe" at Colchester Fringe. Pup Play, after getting its start in Colchester, has or is soon to tour to Glasgow, Orlando, Tampa, Cambridge, and Antwerp's Darklands Festival. The show has raised over 750+ (so far) for LGBTQ+ charities. Pup Play is sponsored by Mr.Riegillio, MessyPup, BoboBear, Sent With Pride, and Essex Startups. AUDIENCES RAVE (9.4/10 AVERAGE SCORE):"Politcal. Playful. Poignant." Lorna - Colchester"What a powerhouse show... loud, sexy, funny, bold, but also surprisingly melancholy, introspective, and moving... do not miss this." Nora W. - Colchester"After tonight's show, I cannot recommend Pup Play highly enough... Confronting, affirming, heart rending, and healing. Absolutely incredible" Wes - Colchester"Noah Alfred Pantano has created the most chaotic and thought provoking thing I've seen in years... This show makes you actually think, actually care, and actually see marginalized members within the community as people. I will definitely be thinking about this play for a long time." Sam A. - Colchester A very impactful experience... I was brought close to tears when watching. " Anastasia W. - Cambridge"Excellent queer show highlighting the kink queer issues of today performed with great theatre." Kiran P. - Cambridge

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
