Process Open Mic with Georgie Jones featuring Rowan Kiffin-Murray

UK Poetry Slam Champion Tyrone Lewis teams up with Writer and Director Kayla Martell Feldman to bring you PROCESS, a monthly Spoken Word night featuring some of the most exciting acts across the scene.

As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, join us for the first event in our Spring season (yes, we do seasons now), including our regular open mic (sign up on the door, poets selected at random) plus a headline set from the one and only Georgie Jones (!!!) and a feature from Process family member Rowan Kiffin-Murray (!!!)

Georgie Jones: A performer by nature and a poet by trade, Georgie Jones is known for her warmth and wit. She was a Roundhouse Poetry Slam finalist, before joining the Roundhouse Poetry Collective and subsequently spent a year as Roundhouse Resident Artist. Its all a bit Roundhouse centric this, isnt it? But WAIT, theres MORE! Her debut spoken-word show Ish was commissioned by a consortium (fancy) of Midlands-based venues and generously supported by the Arts Council. Its sold-out tour garnered 4 and 5 star reviews across the board, describing Georgie as 'one to watch' (LondonTheatreOne) and 'relatable, eloquent, funny and clever' (TheatreBox). Online, Georgie's work has been shared by Malorie Blackman, Adrian Lester and British pop-rock band Bastille who said her poetry was fucking brilliant. Sorry for swearing. Her work champions platonic love, Pitbull (the man not the dog) and perfectly imperfect people navigating life's pandemonium - how'd you like that for alliteration.

Rowan Kiffin-Murray is a poet from East London. He likes to write about feelings he struggles to articulate and lessons he's learned and wants to share. Poetry allows him to express myself in a way he wouldnt be able to in everyday conversation; its an outlet for the subtle and overwhelming emotions that shape his life.

Don't be a dick. By which we mean, be respectful of each other and don't kick down. No racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, ableism, classism, fascism, or any other kind of ism (socialism and optimism are allowed).Open mic slots are 5 minutes long! At 4 minutes and 45 seconds, we'll ring a bell to signal that you have 15 seconds to wrap it up. 15 seconds is shorter than you think!If your set includes potentially upsetting/triggering material, please give a content warning or trigger warning at the start - we won't include that as part of your five minutes. If your performance includes nudity and you don't give a warning in advance, you will be banned for life (this includes all nipples).

Please note that we film and photograph every event - if you don't want any video or images of you to go online, please let Kayla or Tyrone know. You can do so either on the night or afterwards.

None of the doors are power-assisted.
Doors all have overhead soft door closers.
The front door is 130cm wide and quite heavy, opening inwards. Inner doors are 85cm wide.Toilets
There are two gender neutral toilets (one of which is wheelchair accessible), which come with a toilet bin and free period products.
The wheelchair accessible toilet has a 100cm-width door which is outward opening. It is access equipped, with 4 rails, a full-length lower mirror and a raised toilet seat which is 48cm high. The sink is 82cm high.Seating

Kayla (host) is trained to safely act as a sighted guide and to provide audio description for anyone who needs it.
We can also arrange for someone to meet you at the nearest station or bus stop if needed - just let us know in advance.
Guide dogs are always welcome in the space.Sensory and Quiet Space
The performance space has colourful lights but no strobe lights.
Stimming is welcome in the space, as is wearing headphones or earplugs, or playing with fidget toys. We recognise and respect that active listening looks different on everyone.
The foyer can be used as a quiet space until 8pm, after which we have access to a seperate room that can also be used as a secondary breakout and quiet space.
