A live-from-home reading of a twenty minute section of brand new play POSTERBOY based on the autobiography OUT IN THE ARMY by James Wharton " telling the inspiring story of one of the first openly gay soliders in the British Army.
POSTERBOY " which won the Arch and Bruce Brown Award for LGBTQ+ playwrights in 2017, tells the story of James Wharton as he opens up about his sexuality amongst the backdrop of war, prejudice and homophobia in a career that is regularly thought of as inherently masculine. The play will receive its premiere at Army @ The Fringe in 2021. This twenty minute reading will showcase a short section of the brand new play, read by six actors and directed by Kate Golledge. A Q&A will follow the reading.
