A major solo exhibition of new work by British artist Phyllida Barlow, who is known for monumental sculptures made from simple materials. Physically impressive and materially insistent, Barlows sculptures are inspired by engaging with the outside world, and with the experience of living and looking. For this exhibition, Barlows working brief was to turn the Fruitmarket Gallery upside down. She has made a series of large sculptures that engulf the Gallery in art, spilling over the staircase and into the caf and bookshop, enticing the visitor from the street and into the world of the artists imagination.
