Screenings, Performances & Conversations - showcasing the work of international PACE artists followed by Q&AThe presentations include Jainaba - and other stories, a performance and discussion with Rebecca Drammeh who remains the only trained black Global Majority deaf actress in Sweden. Trained at The Stockholm University of the Arts - Rebecca will share an excerpt of her Jainaba Wouldnt Stop Dreaming theatre piece followed by a discussion on themes of identity, language culture and inclusive structures. Voiced by Yamou Sosseh Bostrom, the performance reflects on Rebeccas journey as a deaf person and her eventual visit to Africa.Other guest artists include the multi-talented MRISI in collaboration with Ugandan-Finnish singer-songwriter MAD ICE. Theatre director Nada Sabet will also be reflecting on her international work using theatre as a tool in community creation and exploring the power of humour in tackling violence. Sabet has been directing and using theatre tools since 2005 both for mainstream productions and in non-theatre settings like conferences, corporate training and problem solving situations as well as for therapy and mental health elevation.
