A powerful and evocative mixed media performance performed by Ribbon Road with songs by songwriter Brenda Heslop, and a film by Keith Pattison. The show marks the 30th anniversary of the 1984-85 Miners' Strike. Pattison's photos document events at Easington Colliery, County Durham, following the striking miners and their families through the optimism of August, the deepening pessimism of winter and final vote to return to work. Brenda Heslop's song cycle was inspired by Pattison's photographs and recent visits to Easington and also reflects on the continuing aftermath of that strike in the 21st century.
