No Citation is a wry confessional tale that shines a searingly honest light on a legendary piano man as he faces his final judgement and allows the audience to arbitrate the fate of the deeply flawed but ultimately human protagonist Jeremy d'Wolfe McCarthy. After breaking into derelict Dimitri's Piano Bar, McCarthy attempts to treat his audience to an evening of his latest songs, but finds he's being interrupted by ghosts from his past. As the realisation dawns on him that this may be his last gig ever, he tries to set the record straight. Interwoven with original songs, Kyron Bourke's musical drama No Citation is having its first Dublin run at Smock Alley after a sellout premiere in Belfast's Lyric Theatre. Born in Dublin, the now Belfast-based Bourke is considered something of a town minstrel, an outsider telling tales in song of heartbreak, guilt and human experience. 'A deceptively breezy, soulfully reflective character story, perfect for both winding down to, listening and learning.' - Simon Fallaha 'No Citation is a voyage of imagination, a real musical 'trip' - in all senses of the word - as McCarthy reacts to the mirror held up to his life&.an unexpected and unpredictable tale, engaging and entertaining.' - Alan Meban Belfast Live Review Alan in Belfast Review Age Suitability: 16+ Warnings: Some strong language and adult themes TICKETS 19 | 17 (Concession) RUNNING TIME 70 mins WRITTEN BY Kyron Bourke DIRECTED BY Rhiann Jeffrey LIGHTING DESIGN BY Teatro Nua SET DESIGN BY Teatro Nua COSTUME DESIGN BY Teatro Nua SOUND DESIGN BY Kyron Bourke and Padraig Dooney PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY Stephen Dunwoody VIDEO TEASER Sophie Merry Early development support provided by Jimmy Fay, Ian Vennard (Sound and Video), Emily DeDakis (Dramaturg), Paula O'Reilly (Choreographer) and Jonathan M Daley (Lighting Designer) CAST Kyron Bourke Padraig Dooney Maeve Smyth MUSICIANS Stephen Davis and Linley Hamilton About the Company Teatro Nua was formed in 2022 by brother and sister team Kyron and Bernie Bourke.
