One actor embodies her three alter egos in this tragicomedy Psycho-Drama; recounting the fragmentation of her mind and what it took to heal her rupture in psyche.Meet Mike - an eccentric, scatterbrained academic, demanding ultimate authority of the body he resides, Elliott - a defensive aspiring artist, vying to lead a more creative heart-led path and Host - the reluctant, vulnerable True-Self hiding behind her two identities. Together, they battle out their shared existence, venturing deeper to confront their Shadow-Self and unwittingly begin an unravelling of the mind within the realms of dissociation. From rupture towards repair, they stumble upon painful realisations. Can Host remember her name, or will she continue to hide behind her alter-egos? Can they collectively find a way towards integration or will they remain in fragmented fantasy together?'NeuroChatter, is based on the artists personal experience of recovering from a dissociative condition and PTSD. She considers the piece to be an autobiographical performance of the inner conflict shes experienced and uses the methodology of PsychoDrama & Jungian Psychology to tell the tale. Sara hopes to showcase complex themes regarding trauma, identity and the inner workings of the mind, by externalising representations of the inner psyche & concept of persona through narrative dramatisation and comedy. With many misrepresentations of mental health, Sara hopes to challenge that narrative with a more humanising approach, in the aim of de-stigmatisation of complex trauma survivors.
