The Edinburgh Festival Chorus return in smaller form, with a concert as wide-ranging as in previous years.
The Edinburgh FestivalChorushas provided the backbone of the International Festivals choral programme for more than 50 years. Though the pandemic months have been a particularly challenging time for all singing, the FestivalChorusreturns as a small chamber choir underChorusDirector Aidan Oliver in a concert of varied music by Tallis, Britten, Holst, Errollyn Wallen and Abbie Betinis.
Over the years, the Chorus's singers have had the opportunity to perform alongside the likes of Leonard Bernstein and the London Symphony Orchestra, Marin Alsop and the So Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Herbert von Karajans Berlin Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This years International Festival performance promises to be just as exhilarating as their last.
