Maria Stuarda – Mary Queen of Scots
  • Edinburgh Fringe

Bound by blood and only by bloody acts will they be free of one another. This contemporary staging of Maria Stuarda ruthlessly exposes the emotions in Bardaris visceral words and Donizettis emotional score, which work to dramatise an imagined meeting of rival queens who could not coexist: Elizabeth and Mary. Working with some of todays brightest young professionals, Magnetic Opera returns in its second year, following the success of The Barber of Seville in 2014. The company presents the culturally ingrained story of Mary Queen of Scots fatal conflict with Elizabeth I.
