'When you durst do it, then you were a man; And, to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man. Set in 1953 against the backdrop of Queen Elizabeth's coronation, Lady Macbeth is presented as a picture-perfect housewife, perceived by her sexist society as the conventional subordinate and suppressed spouse. However, behind closed suburbia doors, not all is as it seems. Lady Macbeth rebels against tradition becoming the domineering driving force behind her husband and using her manipulative charm she successfully sows the seeds towards his treason.
