Leonore Piano Trio listing on Broadway Baby

Since forming in 2012, the Leonore Piano Trio has quickly established itself as one of the UKs most accomplished chamber groups. The Trio has long championed rarely heard repertoire as well as contemporary music, among a wide range of musical passions conveyed in fresh and stylish performances.

The players begin their International Festival debut recital with possibly the greatest composition by Clara Schumann. She wrote her sole Piano Trio at a time of great personal and family tragedy, but its music speaks of resilience, determination and an exuberance for life.

Scottish composer Helen Grime spent her childhood studying music in Edinburgh. In her 2008 The Brook Sings Loud, she took inspiration from the proud traditions of pibroch, classical music for the Highland bagpipes, reimagined for the 21st century.

The Leonore players bring their concert to a dramatic close with Antonn Dvoks stormy Third Piano Trio, written shortly after the death of his beloved mother, and surging with raw emotion and ambitious ideas.
