Lee Miller witnessed with her camera events of WWII, the battles and the lives destroyed in the hope that this horror will not be forgotten. Whilst recording WWII events she was also photographing and writing about aspects of womens roles during the war; wartime fashion, the work of the WRNs, ATS, Land Girls, nurses, refugees in Europe, concentration camp victims, women accused of collaboration and those forced into slave labour. Her story and that of the women she encountered are told through her own images presented by her son Antony Penrose with her written word spoken by her granddaughter.
