In a dystopian world where fertility and pregnancy are considered disgraceful in the ruling class, baby farming is an accepted, thriving industry. The play focuses on a young woman from the exploited half of a brutally divided society. She is selected to be a surrogate mother for a seemingly happy couple from the privileged half. The reluctant girls dreams shatter when her illegal relationship with one of the privileged is discovered. This story is two-sided, however, such an idealised society has little room for opinion or emotion. We explore the influence of society in a world of enforced routine.
