Kiran Saggu & Sarah Roberts: The Engagement Party
  • London Fringe

Sarah and Kiran are getting married to their art* this Summer at Edinburgh Fringe, join them for their engagement party (final previews) xxx

In 2022, baby Kiran and baby Sarah did a sell-out split bill show called Cake together at Edinburgh Fringe.

This year they're reuniting at the Fringe as housemates and debutantes, each bringing their own whole entire hours of stand up comedy.

These are their final previews before the Fringe!!!! (Unless something goes horribly wrong and they have to change loads of stuff). Join them for a night of laughter, love and actual cake to celebrate the good old days when they were both younger and their comedy hadn't been reviewed yet so they had a lot more hubris

KIRAN SAGGU: SLACKS (7PM)

Kiran Saggu hates hard work. Battling immigrant and capitalist pressure to succeed from her Desi-British-American background, she wonders: must she get her ass up and work? Or can she be loved, adored, rich and fulfilled from the safety of a log position in her flatshare bed? This show will cover topics like: How can I live with the fact I didn't start that YouTube channel at 12 years old to make me a millionaire now? When will men I date stop telling me they want to pursue stand-up comedy? And, can I sue the Daily Mail?

SARAH ROBERTS: SILKWORM (8.30PM)

An adorable debut from the worlds youngest, smallest, most normal comedian. Sarah Roberts has been condemned to live a thousand lives. She was Henry VIII in her previous life, ate her twin in the womb (not an accident), and most recently got facial reconstructive surgery. Now shes being reborn as the person she hates most: herself. Directed by Daniel Emery and Molly Stacey. Phenomenal new talent, destined for stardom (Catherine Bohart). Remarkable (ThreeWeeks). Certified hottie **** (TheSpyintheStalls.com). Utterly self-absorbed (Chortle.co.uk). BBC Comedy Award nominee, Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year runner-up, level 9461 on Candy Crush.

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
