Gentle entertainment in the form of folk and country songs from Justin Edwards who has written and performed on Radio 4 and previously visited the fringe as Jeremy Lions, the drunken children's entertainer.
Accompanied by acoustic guitar his comic songs explore subjects ranging from love and the hangover fairy to a tribute to Paul Shane. He even puts his introduction and the fire escape procedures to music. As the title of the show suggests this is a solo performance but video footage is used so Justin can accompany himself in a barber shop quartet and a duet with his guardian angel.
The songs are entertaining and feature some clever use of word play but I often preferred the cheeky, witty introductions. That said, at times he is too self deprecating and seems to feel the need to analyse his own show. Perhaps he thinks the audience, who are not rolling around with laughter, aren't getting his jokes. A little too sedate for me.
