And hast thou slain the air-conditioner?
A valiant troupe of young players take on not only Carroll's epic rhyme but a ludicrous space and some pretty dishevelled costumes and deafening air-conditioning, and emerge unscathed with a number of bright moments and engaging performances.
Jabberwocky is the latest production from Grapple Theatre Company and when comparing the cast list to space size you know there's going to be blocking problems - especially when rubber swords are involved - and there are, but the company admirably deals with each hurdle.
Throughout the hour long show the young audience sat transfixed and dutifully participated where asked. This is a deligthful show, riddled with strong performances and full of Shrek-like humour - with repeated performances it will get better and better.
