Imagine a time when four artists shared one studio in a city but never saw one another. They never spoke unless to discuss how to avoid physical interaction. These were the times during a pandemic. The times when art was produced in isolation. 'In the Void' is a show based on the experience of four artists from one studio working in the unusual conditions of social distancing. Produced by Victoria Suvoroff (StalkHer, 2018) with 4 in Farm Mews 5 Art Collective, the show brings a fusion of distinctively different visual languages taken from private studio into the public gallery. In a performative act of live art making one at a time, the conversation is carried out through one collaborative piece by the four artists. Additional work will be displayed in the back-gallery room as to remain in the void in which it was originally created.
