The award-winning Italian pop opera trio, IL VOLO will amaze UK audiences at the Palladium, London on Friday 3rd June, performing in English, Italian and Spanish, songs from their third studio album, Grande Amore.
The powerhouse trio of tenors are Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginole. Spotted in 2009 on the RAI TV show, Ti Lascio Una Canzone, it was thanks to the intuition of Michele Torpedine (the manager who built the careers of Andrea Bocelli Zucchero) that they became IL VOLO.
Before they even spread their wings with a debut album, IL VOLO set a remarkable series of records. They were the first Italians ever to sign a contract with a US record label (Interscope/Universal) and the only Italian artists that Quincy Jones invited to sing on the charity single, We are the World: 25 for Hati.
With their debut album sales reaching 1 million, 2 Latin Grammy nominations and a Latin Billboard Award for Best Act, collaborations with artists like Placido Domingo and Barbara Streisand, sold-out worldwide tours and their recent victory at the 65th Festival di Sanremo, they are now artists considered not so much Italians successful abroad, but international artists who happen to have been born in Italy.
