From diverse backgrounds (Scotland and North America), Gordon Ferries and Stephen Morrison have separately built sterling reputations as baroque and classical guitarists. For the first time they combine their talents to create a rich programme illustrating the complex sonorities of historic instruments. Their choice of 19th century duets by Sor, Carulli and Beethoven, contrasted with baroque and classical solos, enables them to demonstrate both artistic complementarity and stylistic individuality. With their shared enthusiasm for the historical evolution of guitar repertoire and performance traditions, they guarantee the audience a vibrant recital, depicting a full spectrum of moods.
