Nature, love and life: a programme of 19th-century art song devised by Stephen Morrison (guitar) and Jenny Nex (soprano) who bring an impassioned immediacy to performance of works by Schubert, Beethoven and Keller, and Italian contemporaries Ferrari and Giuliani. The recital will feature original settings for voice and guitar complemented by skilful arrangements composed in the same era. The tones of Stephen's restored Mirecourt guitar will enhance the intimate atmosphere, matching the sense of universal musing characteristic of 19th-century lieder. St Cecilia's Hall provides the perfect context for recreating an early 19th-century drawing room recital.
