About the workshop:

The ~ Give or Take ~ workshop invites participants to creatively practise giving and taking. Facilitated by Dear Annie and Emilia Nurmukhamet from Bold Mellon Collective, we will move iteratively from live-looping music to improvised movement, exploring the sensations our bodies can both express and engender. Together, we will give space to experiences of gift-giving and transactions within relationships - both interpersonal and socio-political.

About the project:

~ Give or Take~ is an interactive and intimate live-art performance, exploring gift-giving as an act of celebration, alongside unpacking moments when 'gifts' are employed as a contract. Give or Take has been performed at Bar Dona, The Pen Theatre, VSSL, Royal Docks and Rich Mix.

I loved this workshop! The combination of movement, play, music and collaboration felt really fluid and was beautifully curated. The theme of gift giving and receiving is something that feels very potent for me and I came away with some amazing insight into how uncomfortable receiving (with and without consent!) is a very nuanced place. I really loved the moment of NO and THANK YOU. This is a practice I want to integrate more into my daily life! I enjoyed the open & welcoming vibe, it created space for us all to show up as we are. I really enjoyed the flow of the workshop as it was very satisfying that each thing we explored built upon the next.
