G R I E F C A S E is a new performance by artist Ru Lawrence, constructed and directed by Tailwind Physical Theatre. This bold piece combines dark humour, physicality, and visceral movement to explore the complexities of loss, memory, and healing. Tailwind Physical Theatre, internationally known for creating work that promotes social change and platforms marginalised voices, brings their unique vision to this production. Drawing from personal experiences and universal themes, G R I E F C A S E navigates the often-taboo subject of grief, intertwining humour and emotional depth in a way that is both challenging and liberating. The piece explores grief not as a linear process, but as a messy, unpredictable, and deeply embodied experience. Through movement-heavy choreography, the show moves beyond words, tapping into the power of physical expression to communicate what can't always be said aloud. Ru Lawrence's work has been described as a "surreal and elemental blur," seamlessly merging emotion, movement, and abstraction into an unforgettable experience. Challenging conventional notions of mourning, G R I E F C A S E offers an experience that is as uncomfortable as it is cathartic, allowing audiences to witness grief in all its forms-ugly, funny, messy, and ultimately, human. LATECOMERS MAY NOT BE ADMITTED. UNDER 18s ARE NOT PERMITTED INTO THE THEATRE FOR THIS PERFORMANCE. The performance lasts approximately 60 minutes without interval. No re-admittance once the performance has commenced. Refunds and exchanges are not available.
