Fly with Me is a mix of storytelling and Kite making. It's bringing two traditions together to create a place for craft and reflection. Kite-making and storytelling have a long history in Afghanistan; Afghan kites are made of the simplest of tools and materials. It is simply stalks of bamboo and colourful sheets of tissue paper glued together. Kite running is a pastime in many cultures. I grew up in Kabul where art is practised by an array of all ages.The skies above Kabul are decorated each day with colourful kites fluttering in the wind. The joy of kite flying has left me with vivid memories of running in the dusty streets leaping on the rooftops with other boys while trying to hide from the scorching sun of Kabul. In Afghanistan, kites occupy a unique space between national art forms and national sports. For 800 years, they have been seen as a universal symbol of expression, skill and cultural pride.But the last time the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, kites were banned - along with music, free journalism, theatre and dancing. With the Taliban returning to power in 2021, freedom of expression is under attack yet again.By making and flying kites in the Afghan tradition, we will be standing in solidarity with Afghans in the latest affront to their freedom.

Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
