Felix & Friends: Love Sucks!
  • UK Regional & Tours

The evening was a kaleidoscope of talent, each act offering something utterly unique. - Brighton on the Inside The scariest day of the year looms close. No folks, we're not talking about Halloween. We're talking about Valentine's Day (the week before it at least) and of course we had to celebrate in cynical style! Join Drag Idol winner, occasional fluffer and permanent fool Felix Le Freak for a night of theatrical buffoonery like no other, as we take over Tusk club (downstairs at The Walrus). Expect tales of love and lust from our dazzling array of vixens, valentines and vamps. Youll be guaranteed to leave smitten or bitten! STARRING

SCAREDY KAT

ALEXA VOX

A shimmering showgirl with the pipes of an angel, Alexa is the winner of Pride's Got Talent and the voice of a generation (not sure which).

MARTI DELON

A regular on Brighton's stand-up circuit, Marti delivers absurd comedy and song.

JODI SUMMER

Jodi is a staple on Brighton's drag scene, taking competitions by storm and showcasing a repertoire that spans music, lipsync and character comedy.

WHERE, WHEN AND HOW?

Join us on FRIDAY 7th FEB at the gorgeous TUSK CLUB, a decadent cabaret lounge with velvet booths and dangling chandeliers, located on the basement level of THE WALRUS on Ship Street, BN1 1AD.

Downstairs doors open at 7pm and the show will kick of at 7.30 sharp. The venue serves wonderful food all evening so why not take in dinner AND a show?

The night will feature two intervals but you are free to come and go as you please, whether you fancy a drink, a smoke, a toilet break or simply a moment of peace and quiet.

Wrap time is 10pm when the space turns into a club so feel free to stick around for a bit of a mad one!

TICKETS

Earlybird tickets start at just 8, which is an absolute steal for the show youll be getting. Final release tickets will move up to 10 and entry on the door costs 12 so get in early if you want to save a few quid.

As with any Felix Le Freak production, a limited number of pay-what-you-can tickets are available. Affordable discount codes are available on request once those run out. We want to ensure that money isnt a barrier to anyone who wants to join the party.

If youre filthy rich, or even vaguely comfortable, why not consider purchasing one of our pay-it-forward packages to ensure the show can keep running and keep providing affordable options?

All in all, Felix & Friends promises a night of queer joy, morbid curiosities and flagrant stupidity, all with its tongue firmly in cheek. We shant say which cheek.

Audience participation is strongly encouraged in the form of whoops, cheers and giggles. However, hateful or disruptive behaviour of any kind towards our artists or members of our community will not be tolerated. Don't make me release the hounds!

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
